Audencia hosts Conference on Global Corporate Responsibility
The
16th and 17th of October will witness a novel approach to
the question of global corporate responsibility when a new European conference
gives those at the sharp end of the issue a chance to voice their views.
Organised by Audencia Nantes School of Management, the event on the French
school’s campus breaks the mould by inviting business managers, lawyers, NGOs
and others to join academic experts in a wide-reaching debate.
In
this way, the conference aims to pick apart the real nature of global
responsibility by drawing on speakers’ first-hand experiences as well as
research. Such an approach differs from that assumed by most conferences on the
subject where the real worth of global responsibility is very rarely discussed.
A wealth of topics
During the two days, a series of round tables and workshops will allow speakers from as far afield as Canada, the USA, Finland, Germany, the UK, Belgium and France and to discuss all aspects of this thorny question. Among the topics covered will be the rating of global responsibility, the role of corporate governance, global responsibility in universities and management schools, and what part workers, NGOs and public authorities should play in the process.
To coincide with the conference, Audencia will unveil its own charter of responsibility. In doing so, the school will become the first in France, and one of the very few in Europe, to commit itself in such a way.
