To do a quick recap, I will tell you that there are few types of bonuses that casino operators give players to help them boost their initial playing capital, among which the most common are deposit bonuses and packages. The first type implies a one-time deposit to claim the whole amount, while the latter gives players the opportunity of making numerous smaller instalments and still claim the whole bonus, only over a longer period of time. So, now let’s have a look at bonus packages and see how to make the most of them.

The best way to explain such a bonus is to give you an example. Let’s say you have a bonus package of up to £1,500. This offer can be claimed over 5 deposits, for example, each up to £300. This means that you will be able to make 5 deposits to get the whole bonus amount, instead of having to deposit £1,500 at once for the same bonus. Sounds good, right? But there are still things that you need to pay attention to, such as the match percentage of the individual deposit offers of the whole package. Let me explain. There are cases in which all instalments get an equal match bonus, which means that for 100% up to £300 you need to deposit £300 and you will get another £300 bonus. However, in some cases, the offer is 50% or 200% up to £300. In the latter, you deposit £150 and get £300 as bonus. Pretty simple so far, right?

Another similar type of offer is the reload one, which implies that you will get another bonus on your second, third and fourth deposits, per say. The difference between this and the bonus packages is that you will have an almost unlimited period of time to receive the reload bonuses while bonus packages are usually valid for a month or so. Depending on the overall amount, I would always go for this type of offers because I can claim the first deposit bonus now and the second and third, whenever I see fit. We spoke last time briefly about the different types of casino bonuses and the wagering requirements attached to them. But there is another important aspect that I promised we will cover in the second part of this lesson – game contributions. Let me explain.
First of all, I mentioned before that almost all bonuses have certain conditions that you need to comply with before you will be able to withdraw it, along with your winnings. But you should always check the wagering contributions for your favourite game or games, because otherwise you might end up not being able to play through the bonus and you could stand to lose it after the validity period has expired.
The way it works is every £100 played at a specific game category or variation contributes with a certain percentage to the wagering requirements. For example, since most of the times slots have a 100% contribution, £100 played on any slot will fully contribute to the bonus playthrough, while the same amount wagered on roulette will only have a 10% – 25% contribution.
Of course, this also depends on the type of bonus you choose, because it’s only normal that a slot welcome bonus can only be played on slots, so all other games will be excluded. Nonetheless, this does not mean that you cannot play them, they simply won’t help you with the bonus playthrough. Or let’s say you claim a special bonus for live-dealer games, it’s only obvious that you will have to play it on the dedicated games.
Most of the times slots, video poker and arcade games, such as Heads or Tails and Paper, Rock, Scissors have a 100% contribution, while tables games or some of their variations may have little to no contribution whatsoever. This is why it’s a good idea to check the terms and conditions of a certain bonus offer before claiming it, so as to make sure that you can use the bonus to play your favourite games. Moreover, sometimes certain variations may be excluded due to the high RTP (return to player), which implies a very small house edge.
Such is many times the case of French Roulette, which has a really high RTP of 98.65% and at some casinos this game has 0% contribution. The same thing can be said about Blackjack Switch, the best variation to play, once more thanks to the RTP of 99.42%. Bonus Wagering Requirements – Part I

In this article, we will look at the different types of bonuses in terms of how and whether or not you should claim them, because you should only pick a bonus with favourable wagering requirements. The first bonus we will talk about is the no deposit one. As you could tell from the name, this offer doesn’t require you to fund your account, but simply to register. However, as attractive as these offers may seem, most of the times they will not do anything else for you than give you the chance to try out the software and some of the games. The reason for which I say that lays precisely in the wagering requirements, as they are usually extremely high and have a short validity period.

To give you an example, let’s say Casino X offers £10 for newcomers, no deposit required. When you see such an offer, you should immediately check the terms and conditions of this bonus and be prepared for the worse. Don’t get me wrong. if you only want to play around with it and get a feel for the casino site, these offers will do just fine. If, on the other hand, you plan on making money from this bonus, then roll up your sleeves and get ready for quite the battle. Some no deposit offers can even have a wagering requirement as high as 100 times, which means that you have to wager that amount, let’s say £10, a 100 times to be able to withdraw your winnings. And while it is do-able, if you have only 7 days to fulfil these conditions, this becomes mission impossible.

Deposit bonuses, on the other hand, are a whole different dish, although they also have conditions attached to them. There are two types of offers – first deposit bonuses and deposit packs or packages. The latter imply a larger bonus amount, spread across more than just one deposit. This means that every time you make a deposit, it will be matched to a certain percentage by the operator and you will have a significantly bigger balance to play with. There is one considerable difference between deposit bonuses at different online casinos: while one casino may ask you to play through the bonus 30 times per say, others may impose the same wagering requirement for the bonus and your deposit. Let’s say you claim a 100% up to £100 bonus. As you can probably imagine, it’s one thing to wager the £100 that you claimed and a whole different thing to wager £100 + £100 that you deposited.
